    Open Door Rehabilitation Center

    Serves adults with developmental disabilities, such as mental retardation, Down’s Syndrome, cerebral palsy, and autism. Services include: sheltered workshop, vocational training, developmental training program, supported employment, community employment, supported living, and residential facilities.

    Open Closet – Seventh Day Adventist Church

    Emergency clothing program providing free clothing to DeKalb County residents who have need.

    Northern IL Center for Adaptive Technology

    Provides information, seminars, and individual needs in technology. Helps people with disabilities by providing information on the latest technology and by matching adaptive devices to their disabilities.

    NIU Psychological Center

    A full range of outpatient psychological services. The services include evaluations in the form of psychological testing and diagnostic interviews. Also offers a variety of psychotherapies, including individual, couple, family, and group therapy; parent education; and play-based therapy for children.

    NICIL – Northwestern IL Center for Independent Living

    Advocates for individuals with disabilities who want to live more independently. Provides peer support, information and referrals, independent skills training, community reintegration programs, support groups, public education and outreach, and sign language classes.

    JDWI Foundation

    The JDWI Foundation provides grant funding for organizations and individuals who reside in Jo Daviess County to deal with issues of health, housing, transportation and/or employment. Applications and grant guidelines can be obtained by written request by mail or e-mail.
